What to expect on your first visit?
- Integrity Footcare is reliable and strives to be punctual. There are times when the nurse may arrive earlier or later due to previous appointments being shorter or longer than expected. Please allow a radius of half an hour around your scheduled time.
- Nurse will complete consent form with you and open a health chart.
- Please have the following available: 1) list of your medications 2) family physician contact information 3) emergency contact information
- Nurse will ask you questions on your overall health. Integrity Footcare has a holistic approach and understands that foot health may be affected by other health conditions. It is important for the nurse to have a comprehensive knowledge of your health to provide an optimal individualized care plan.
- Nurse will do a lower limb assessment: assess mobility,circulation,sensation, condition of skin and nails of feet.
- Nurse will provide foot care: clean feet with antiseptic, reduce nails/callouses/corns as needed,may use podiatry drill if needed,massage lower limbs with moisturizing lotion.
- Nurse will equip client with knowledge by teaching about foot care and overall health.
- Nurse will provide additional interventions, recommendations and referrals as needed.
- If you choose to have a subsequent appointment with Integrity Footcare, booking can be done at the end of visit.
- Follow-up appointments are shorter in duration, as most of the paper work is done during the first visit.
- Accept cash (preferred) or cheque.
- If writing cheque, please make it payable to Ines Lopes.
- Receipts issued for insurance/income tax.
